In a video shared on TikTok by user @coconicoletx, Nicole described her surprise as she searched the house, only to find her son and the Pug snuggled up together behind the couch.
Her son had made a cosy nook with blankets and pillows, wanting the dog to feel comfortable in their home.
Rescue pug
The family, known for rescuing strays, had brought the Pug in after Nicole’s husband found him dodging cars on a busy street. They kept the dog in a kennel overnight, planning to search for its owner the next day.
Nicole explained they are still looking for the dog’s family, as he has no microchip. She has contacted animal control and posted on lost and found pages in hopes of reuniting the Pug with his rightful owners.
Heartwarming video
Meanwhile, the heartwarming scene of the sleeping duo has touched many on social media. The video has garnered over 472,700 views, 41,000 likes, and hundreds of comments.
While Nicole insists they won’t keep the Pug, many viewers hope for a different outcome.
“Best friends already,” commented one user. For now, the family continues to shower the dog with love as they await a reunion with his family.
