Help for stray dogs

The store’s staff have provided rugs for the dogs to sleep on, groom, and feed them. This compassionate act has attracted widespread praise on social media, thanks to videos and photos of the dogs taken by store customers.

There’s a huge number of stray dogs in Sicily, and animal welfare concerns are widespread across Italy.

The company is actively involved in addressing this problem through its ‘Home for Hope’ campaign, which aims to find homes for stray dogs by showcasing their photos in IKEA showrooms to encourage adoption.

Hope of finding forever homes

While the store has been quietly admitting stray pets for some time, the recent attention will hopefully bring more support for their efforts. Some dogs have already found new homes thanks to the kindness of IKEA’s employees and customers.

With IKEA’s expanding pet product line, maybe the store will start employing these pups as product testers in the future!
