My cats snoring has gotten worse. Is this an age thing? Should I be concerned?

Hi Wiggle1991,

In general, snoring is considered normal in cats, unless it occurs alongside other symptoms. Things to watch out for include discharge from the eyes or nose, which could indicate your cat has a respiratory infection. A few simple reasons they may be snoring louder is that your cat may be sleeping in a strange position, as they so often do, which might cause temporary snoring. Is your cat is overweight? excersising less due to old age will be putting pressure on their nasal passages and causing them to snore.

Keep an eye on the development of the snoring and if it continues to get louder then take a trip to your vets to eliminate anything nasty. If not then i hope you can enjoy the sound of your fur child relaxing!
