Izzy and Tara: female dog to adopt

Published on : 03/01/2026

Izzy and Tara have sadly been returned to us due to their owners feeling as though they can’t meet their needs. They are a lovely pair of sisters who are looking to be rehomed together. Izzy and Tara can be a little nervous of strangers at first and will bark when first meeting someone. Once they trust and love you the girls are lovely lapdogs who love nothing more than a cuddle.

They enjoy playing with toys, especially soft squeaky ones or anything they can chase. They can be quite cheeky and love to steal things and run off with them. They love cuddling up to their people on the sofa or bed. The girls are very food motivated which can help with building up trust. Izzy and Tara are very sweet natured girls who are energetic and love their long walks so will need an active owner. They would prefer to be walked in quieter areas due to their nerves around strangers. They can be reactive to other dogs when out on walks so would benefit from gentle socialising. Their reactivity isn’t aggression, just nerves. Once they have been properly introduced to other dogs they tend to get on well with them.

Izzy and Tara will need patient and understanding owners who will give them the time and space they need to settle into their new home and earn their trust. The girls can become overwhelmed if rushed into things such as meeting new people, dogs and environments so everything will have to be done slowly at their pace. Someone with experience with the breed or nervous dogs would be ideal. They would be better suited as the only pets in and adult only home due to their nerves. Izzy and Tara would make great company to the right person. If you feel you could offer these girls a loving forever home, please don’t hesitate to come down to our Edenbridge centre and meet them.
