Andrew is a medium sized, Belgian shepherd type crossbreed, aged around seven years old. What a journey we’ve been on with this ultra special boy. I first met him in the Botosani public shelter two or three years ago. I’ve always loved walking him when there but initially he was pretty hyped up and picky about which dogs he’d get in with so I feared bringing him to the UK as all of our foster homes have other dogs and I couldn’t be sure how he’d gel with them whilst we searched for his forever home. During the last two trips I noted that he’d mellowed out a lot as he’d matured and I was ready to make a commitment to bring him….. but our trip in January sealed that and hurried him to the top of the list as he was in a very poor state and I darent leave him there any longer. Long story short, he’s now in the UK, looking great and being an absolute star in his multi dog foster placement. Andrew is looking for a five star home. We’re very attached to him and we so want to see him loved and adored for the superstar, loyal dog that he is. He adores his walks, idolises his family and is a genuine pleasure to be around. He is mixing with dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages in his foster home and has been a true gentleman with all of them. He could also live as the only dog in the home. He could live with respectful children aged ten plus. He is still very active for his age and likes to be involved in all the family fun.
Andrew fostered Norwich Norfolk.

Adoption Policy
When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period.
Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure.
