Gorgeous Morris arrived in the UK in July 2024 and after some initial nervousness he has grown in confidence. Morris is a very speedy learner and will need a home where he is mentally stimulated and can spend time outdoors.
Morris is fantastic in the house and can be left alone. He will let you know when his needs aren’t being met, such as time for walks, dinner, and toileting. This is associated with his routine, i.e., going out for a walk near dinner time. When you arrive home, he greets you with a ‘woof woof’ and a waggy tail and enjoys snuggling in. He is fine with other dogs visiting the home and out on walks. Overall, he is calm in the house and loves to lie in!
Morris is displaying signs of high prey drive. As he has become more confident, his prey drive has increased, and he is highly fixated on squirrels and cats.The problem is the area the current owners live in (they cannot find a walking route without squirrels or cats). If Morris sees a cat or squirrel, he will pull to get to it, and he is strong on the lead.
Morris is 50/50 about getting in the boot of a car, and the current owners have been helping him with positive training techniques, which will need to be continued. Morris needs to be homed with adopters experienced with large breeds .
Morris is neutered, fully vaccinated and weighs approx. 35kg.
