Jana, a female labrador Cross who is 2.5 months old, had a difficult beginning to her life after being abandoned along with her siblings in a village in Northern Spain. It’s truly heartbreaking to think that someone could leave such young puppies on the streets.
Thankfully, Jana and her siblings were rescued and placed in foster homes, with two already being adopted by their forever families. We hope that Jana will find her perfect home soon as well.
Despite being the runt of the litter, Jana exhibits all the joyful characteristics of a typical puppy—playful, curious, and full of energy. She has been raised in a nurturing foster environment, receiving the love and attention every puppy deserves.
The time has now come for Jana to find her permanent family, where she can thrive and continue to flourish. Due to the unknown parentage, her future size remains uncertain, but the vet speculates she may be a Labrador Cross. Nevertheless, potential adopters should be ready for the possibility of her growing larger or heavier than anticipated.
We are seeking a family with prior experience handling dogs rather than first-time pet owners, who can dedicate the necessary time and effort to properly train Jana to be a well-mannered and sociable part of their household. It is important that she gains knowledge of boundaries and regularly engages with other dogs, people, and different settings to continue her social development.
Jana would benefit from residing in an active household, and although having another dog would be ideal, it is not mandatory as long as she has sufficient opportunities to socialize and engage with other dogs through walks or outdoor activities. She is most suitable for a home with adults only or older children who have familiarity with dogs, as her ongoing training and socialization demands a significant amount of time and dedication.
Raising a young dog like Jana can be fulfilling but is also quite challenging. She requires owners who are patient, loving, and committed to caring for her over the next 10-15 years. Jana will come vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for Mediterranean diseases, with a contract to be spayed at the appropriate age.
Currently in Northern Spain, she will be ready to travel to England or Wales from August 2024 if the right home is found.
If you have the time and experience to dedicate to our wonderful Jana, we would love to hear from you.
