While returning home from a night out on Saturday 10 October, the young woman discovered a tiny kitten trapped in a storm drain.
Kelsey was still wearing her evening dress when she spotted the kitten.
A late-night rescue
She pulled on a pair of boots and approached the drain to try and coax the little cat out. To lure him from the pipe, she used a treat. At first, the kitten was terrified. In the video below, he can be seen hesitating to come forward and trying to hide.
After a few attempts, Kelsey managed to gently scoop him up and pull him to safety. She then placed him in a cardboard box to keep him secure before taking him home.
A forever home?
When Kelsey's fiancé came home, he was shocked to find a kitten in the house. However, it did not take long for the little creature to win him over. The couple gave the kitten a warm bath, wrapped her in cosy blankets, and settled her on a warm heating pad.
The couple quickly fell in love with the rescued kitten. They took to social media to share the wonderful news: they have decided to adopt her for good. Followers are eagerly waiting to find out what name they have chosen for her. What started as an unexpected night out ended up being the start of a wonderful new chapter!
