Two foster kittens develop a hilarious obsession with true crime documentaries

By Elodie Carpentier

These two clever cats love watching television, with a particular soft spot for real-life crime dramas.

Over in the United States, two adorable kittens named Mahi Mahi and Mackerel were taken in by a rescue shelter that was completely overwhelmed with stray animals.

To give the kittens a more comfortable start in life, the shelter put out an appeal to find them a temporary home. That is when the Orphan Kitten Project, a rescue group run by veterinary students at UC Davis in California, stepped in to help.

A cosy upgrade

The little felines happily swapped the noise and anxiety of rescue cages for the cosy comfort of a foster home. Their days are now filled with lively play sessions and, rather surprisingly, cosy TV evenings dedicated to crime documentaries.

Settling down for true crime

When the house finally quietens down in the evening, Mahi Mahi and Mackerel love to settle down side by side. They happily watch whatever their foster family is streaming, showing a real fascination for true crime documentaries.

Now safe and sound, Mahi Mahi and Mackerel are looking for their forever home. The Orphan Kitten Project has made it clear that because of their incredibly close bond, these two little stars must be adopted together. They are ready to share a new sofa and many more TV nights with their lucky future family.
