This cat's nose began to swell for no reason, leaving her vets shocked

By Elise Petter

Biscuit had been living a perfectly normal life as a happy cat since she was adopted seven years ago. But one day, out of the blue, her nose began to change shape.

A sudden change

Biscuit was adopted as a tiny kitten after turning up on her owner's doorstep, and she grew up without a single health issue. But then, her nose started to swell, growing a little larger every single day.

Her owners took her to see a veterinary team. The diagnosis was cryptococcosis, a fungal infection that is usually quite straightforward to treat in cats. However, the illness took a different turn for poor Biscuit. She grew weaker, lost her appetite, and had to be fed through a feeding tube while the vets worked hard to find the right treatment.

A unique look for life

Thankfully, the treatment eventually got the infection under control. However, her nose never returned to its normal size. Her family explained on social media that the swelling was actually caused by permanent scar tissue. Since surgery isn't an option for her, Biscuit will be keeping her very distinctive nose.

But this hasn't stopped her from living life to the full. She breathes easily, eats on her own, plays, and still loves cuddling just like any other cat. Her story, shared online, has quickly melted the hearts of many internet users.
