Without hesitating for a second, she hopped off her bike to find out where the noise was coming from.
As she crept closer, she discovered a tiny kitten curled up in the bushes, looking absolutely terrified.
A terrified kitten
The poor little kitten seemed completely lost and barely dared to move. Madison called her mum straightaway to explain the situation. Her mum arrived quickly on the scene with a pet carrier. Together, they rescued the kitten gently, whom they later named S'mores, before taking him straight to the vet for a full check-up.
Aged around four months old, the tiny kitten weighed just over a pound. He was dehydrated severely, extremely underweight, and had an injury to his back leg that made it difficult for him to get around.
A happy adoption
Despite his worrying condition, Madison and her mum decided to give S'mores his forever home. As soon as he arrived, the kitten was given a nice warm bath, nutritious food, and endless love. He also met the rest of the family – another cat and two large dogs – who welcomed him very gently.
Four weeks later, the kitten's transformation is spectacular. His leg has healed completely, he is back to a healthy weight, and he is finally enjoying a life filled with playtime, cuddles, and peace.
Today, S'mores shares an incredible bond with Madison, who has become his best friend. This unexpected encounter in the bushes has changed the lives of Madison and her whole family for the better!
