When the couple first saw Buffy at the rescue centre back in 2022, it was love at first sight.
With her short sandy coat, sweet little face and floppy ears, the young pup looked just like a Labrador puppy.
A gradual transformation
However, they knew her rescue centre paperwork didn't list her as a purebred Labrador. The description simply said "crossbreed", a term often used when a dog's exact origins are unknown. Still, the couple didn't hesitate to adopt her.
But as the months went by, Buffy's appearance began to change. At first, it was just small details. Although she started out with floppy ears, one of them suddenly began to stand upright. Then, the tip of her nose gradually changed until it turned completely pink.
The best decision
Watching Buffy grow, her owners realised they had probably got her breed wrong. To show her journey, they put together a video of Buffy as a puppy at the rescue centre compared to how she looks now. With her pointed snout and upright ear, she certainly doesn't look much like a Labrador anymore!
Despite this surprising twist as she grew up, her owners don't regret their choice for a second. In fact, they say they wouldn't change a single thing about their journey with Buffy. She is a beloved member of the family and brings them endless joy every single day.
