Netflix unveils its live-action Scooby-Doo series starring a real dog

The streaming platform Netflix has shared the first trailer for its upcoming live-action series, titled Scooby-Doo: The Origins.

Netflix is taking one of pop culture's most famous dogs back to his roots. On Monday, 8th June, the streaming platform unveiled the very first trailer for its new live-action series, named Scooby-Doo: The Origins.

Currently filming in Atlanta, USA, this ambitious eight-episode project was originally announced by the streaming giant in 2024.

Mystery at summer camp

As the title suggests, the series will take viewers back in time to tell the story of how the famous Great Dane met his future gang of friends. For the first time in the franchise's history, the main character will be played by a real dog.

A chilling new mystery

The official synopsis reveals a plot that blends nostalgia with chills: ”During their last summer at camp, old friends, Shaggy and Daphne, find themselves caught up in a strange mystery about a lonely puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural murder. Teaming up with Velma, the pragmatic and scientific city girl, and Fred, the strange but charming newcomer, they set out to solve the case, which will lead them into a terrifying nightmare that could expose all their secrets.
