It was around 6:30 in the morning.
The council workers were cleaning the Royal Meadow Drive Recreational Area when they spotted a sealed plastic bag.
A huge surprise
Inside the bag were 14 abandoned kittens. One of the workers took the kittens home with him before taking them to a veterinary clinic. All the little ones were then examined by a vet.
Fortunately, they were all generally in good health. The kittens received proper care and food, and are now resting in a safe environment.
A heartfelt thank you
The rescue of the 14 kittens did not go unnoticed. The council hailed the workers as heroes for saving the kittens. On its Facebook account, the council praised the two workers for their quick thinking in handling the situation.
The council also wished to thank the family of the worker who agreed to take the kittens in until they could be examined by a vet. We are so relieved that all the kittens are safe and sound. Well done on a fantastic rescue!
