In Bath, Maine, in the United States, a dog went through a terrifying ordeal.

The dog was walking in the Washington Street dog park with his family.

Unexpectedly, he managed to escape from the park.

Trapped and in danger

While running off, the dog unfortunately fell into a marsh on the other side of the fence. The poor animal was trapped and couldn't get out. His body was stuck in the mud, and he was unable to free himself without help.

The dog's owners called the fire brigade for emergency assistance. The rescuers didn't hesitate for a moment. One of the firefighters waded into the 4°C water to bring the dog back to the bank.

A successful rescue and a vital reminder

In a Facebook post, the fire brigade reminded dog owners of the importance of supervising their pets when walking them near the Washington Street dog park, as other dogs have been trapped there in the past.

Fortunately, it was more frightening than harmful, and the dog is now back with his family, safe and sound. It's a huge relief for him and his family, and everyone hopes he recovers quickly from his terrifying ordeal!
