A Californian shelter has celebrated the double adoption of two dogs who spent hundreds of days in their kennels.

This time, it was his turn... Clyde, an adorable 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier, had waited 831 days to be adopted.

As reported by Newsweek, the Californian shelter that took in Clyde shared the good news on its Facebook account.

And in more good news, Clyde's adoption happened at the same time as that of Thor, a 3-year-old Pitbull-Husky mix who had waited 280 days before catching a family's eye.

A heartfelt farewell

In the video shared on social media, the two dogs quickly made their way to their car to start their new lives, to the applause of volunteers and staff.

A volunteer with a heart of gold

This double adoption was made possible thanks to Roberto, a volunteer who spent a great deal of time with the rescue dogs. He immersed himself in the shelter's daily routine, often walking up to six dogs a day and giving them the much-needed exercise and attention they craved outside their kennels.

And that's how the two dogs were able to reconnect with people and find their new families.
