Sal is currently living at the Stray No More rescue centre in Los Angeles, USA.
The rescuers there know him well. They first met him as a kitten, affectionately nicknaming him Sal after Salvador Dali.
A promising start
He was just a tiny kitten when they first rescued him. They cared for him and bottle-fed him until he was adopted by a loving family, which everyone hoped would be his forever home.
However, now two and a half years old, Sal is back at the rescue centre. His family's circumstances changed, and sadly, they could no longer look after him.
Losing hope
In a video filmed by the rescuers, you can see the sadness in Sal's eyes. He hasn't had a single adoption enquiry since he returned to his pen. The grey cat lies on his cushion, looking utterly dejected by his situation.
It's hard to understand why such an adorable cat is struggling to find a new family. The video has been watched by over 695,000 people, with many expressing their confusion in the comments. The rescuers are desperately hoping that the lovely grey cat will soon find a patient family who can give him all the love and attention he deserves.
