Getting a cat to lose weight is no easy task. A few years ago, a young woman named Peyton O’Brien decided to adopt a stray kitten she named Chesterbelle.
The kitten grew up, but he also grew outwards. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the cat put on a lot of weight. As reported by The Dodo, with his family at home more often, he started demanding more food.
The problem with lockdown weight
His vet stressed that it was crucial for him to slim down. So, Peyton came up with an ingenious idea to help her furry friend, who needed to shed 4.4 pounds.
A homemade gym
She decided to create an obstacle course to get him moving as much as possible. The course is made up of fun challenges where he has to jump over things or weave around cones. "I just try to find different things for him to do every day," said Peyton.
The method is paying off, as Chester is steadily losing weight. Hopefully, he'll reach his ideal weight very soon.
