Goat spots a sleeping dog: its next move is completely surreal

Sometimes, you find wisdom in the most unexpected places. Tripod, a big-hearted Beagle, has become a true internet icon of patience. His daily mission? To serve as a playground (and sometimes a snack) for a rather intrusive housemate.

Napoléon is a kid goat brimming with energy. Like all kids, he loves to climb on anything that remotely resembles a peak. Unfortunately for Tripod, his back appears to be the perfect mountain.

In this classic video, which has stood the test of time, we see little Napoléon desperately trying to scale the Beagle. Not content with using him as a perch, the kid then decides to see if his canine friend's ears are edible, embarking on an enthusiastic nibbling session.

The Beagle's absolute zen

What makes the clip so magical is Tripod's attitude. While any other dog would have eventually become annoyed or run off, this Beagle remains incredibly calm. With his eyes half-closed, he seems to accept his fate with a kindness and composure that is truly admirable.

Is it resignation or deep friendship? Probably a bit of both. Tripod seems to understand that his little charge needs to let off some steam, and he happily offers up his back as a trampoline.

An enduring internet hit

Although the footage is nine years old, it continues to be shared widely on social media. In an age where everything moves so fast, the sight of this unflappable Beagle offers a much-needed, gentle pause.

And internet users certainly agree, with comments regularly hailing him as "the most zen dog on the planet". Tripod reminds us that sometimes the best response to the world's chaos (or a baby goat's) is simply to stay still and let the storm pass... with a little hoof on the shoulder.
