In the city of Youngstown, Ohio, a family had been tirelessly searching for their beloved dog, who had been missing for nine years.
Their dog, Saleo, escaped while he was out for a walk, and his family had been searching for him ever since.
He simply vanished
The dog had left no trace, as if he had vanished into thin air. His owner, Sharon Kelly, had even reported him missing to the police. For all those years, she would regularly stop whenever she saw a dog in the neighbourhood that looked like Saleo, just to check if it was him.
On 21st March 2026, their luck finally changed. Sharon's granddaughter sent her a Facebook post from the local animal shelter, which had recently found a lost dog.
An uncanny resemblance
In the photo, the dog was very dirty, his fur was matted, and he was in a sorry state. And yet, both Sharon and her granddaughter thought he bore a striking resemblance to Saleo. The very next day, Sharon went to the shelter.
Thanks to vet records and old photos, they were able to prove that the dog they found was indeed Saleo! Sharon and her whole family are overjoyed to have their beloved dog back. For now, Saleo needs some treatment for his eyes and teeth, but he is finally back home and in safe hands!
