Local residents contacted them after hearing a dog barking incessantly throughout the night nearby.
The barking seemed to be coming from a construction site.
A deadly trap
Concrete had recently been poured on the site, and residents were worried that a dog had become trapped. Given the urgency of the situation, firefighters rushed to the scene.
When they arrived, they sadly discovered a small dog with its entire body trapped in the concrete. This explained the hours of barking during the night; without help, the dog was facing a terrible death.
A seven-hour rescue and a happy reunion
The rescuers had to use heavy-duty equipment, including construction tools, to free the dog. In total, it took them a full seven hours to release the poor animal, who they soon realised was a female.
The rescuers initially thought she was a stray. However, a veterinary examination revealed a microchip, which showed her name was Paris and that her family was desperately searching for her. After receiving veterinary care, Paris was reunited with her family. It was a huge relief for everyone involved, and a huge well done to the firefighters for this incredible rescue!
