The rescuers received a report about an abandoned dog near a barn. They didn't hesitate for a second to step in.
As soon as they arrived, the stray dog immediately came over to greet them.
An affectionate dog
The rescuers gave the dog some food and water. It was then that they heard faint noises coming from a short distance away. To their great surprise, they realised they were the tiny cries of puppies.
The brave mother dog led the rescuers to a small, makeshift den, where they discovered three puppies lying on the ground in some straw. The little ones still had their eyes closed, which meant they were probably less than a week old.
An unusual colour
The mother dog was completely trusting: she let the rescuers pick up her little ones and place them in the transport crate. As they lifted the third puppy, they realised it was a very unusual colour... The puppy was green!
At first, the rescuers were quite worried. They had never seen anything like it and wondered if the puppy was ill. But thankfully, once the puppies were examined by a vet, their fears were put to rest. It turns out the green colour comes from the mother dog's amniotic fluid and is only temporary. It's a rare condition. The whole family is doing well and resting at the Do Good Rescue shelter. We wish them all the best for the future.
