She turned around to see a large, thick-furred dog following her!
Although the dog seemed friendly, Reka was concerned about being followed by a strange dog.
A dangerous path
The hiking terrain was rocky and steep, and the young woman was focused on staying safe. She wasn't sure she could manage looking after a dog on the trail. However, it seemed she had no choice. As she pressed on, she could still hear the dog's footsteps behind her. He was very clever, hiding amongst the bushes to avoid being seen as he followed her.
The dog eventually followed her all the way to her campsite, where Reka gave him some food. She had grown used to his presence. So much so, that when another group of people chased him away, she felt lonely without him.
A new beginning
Reka fell asleep in tears that night and continued her hike the next morning. She thought about the dog constantly over the following days, convinced she would never see him again. But three days after he vanished, a strange noise woke her up. It sounded like something was prowling around her tent... The dog had returned!
Reka was over the moon. She continued her hike with the dog, who she named Lycian. Unfortunately, Lycian kept running off, and they were separated several times.
When the young woman finished her hike, Lycian was nowhere to be found. But just a few minutes after hitching a motorbike ride out of town, she was unexpectedly reunited with her furry friend.
Lycian followed the motorbike to the edge of town, and when the driver finally stopped, Reka decided to adopt him for good. She took Lycian home with her, and now the two companions are inseparable, helping each other through life!
