Vanessa looked around, but there was nobody else in sight.
The dog was all on his own and seemed to have decided that Vanessa was the one to save him!
An unexpected passenger
As she got out of the car to look for the dog's owner, the pooch seized his chance, jumped inside, and made himself comfortable on the back seat. Vanessa felt she had no choice but to help him!
She took him straight to the vet to see if he was microchipped and find his owner. Sadly, the chip was registered to someone who could no longer care for him. With the help of the local community on Facebook, Vanessa discovered the dog's name was Knuckles and that he actually belonged to a homeless man who lived in the area. The man was known to be inseparable from his dog, so no one was quite sure why or how the pair had been separated.
A heartwarming reunion
Vanessa decided to take Knuckles home with her for the night. She looked after him, and the next morning, she was able to arrange a reunion with his owner. You can see their emotional reunion in the video below.
The dog is overjoyed to see his human again. Thankfully, the pair weren't separated for long, all thanks to Vanessa's kindness. We're so happy that Knuckles was reunited with his owner and we wish them all the best for the future.
