A stunning white coat
Completely white, he has a fluffy coat that makes him look almost like a giant, living snowflake! It's impossible not to want to give him a cuddle and sink into his cloud-like fur.
White German Shepherds are quite rare, but they aren't a separate breed. Their colour is due to a recessive gene that both parents must carry to produce a white puppy. If only one parent has the gene, the puppies won't be white.
An internet sensation
This makes Duke a very rare and special dog. The video below shows him when he was just a puppy. Then, only six months later, a nearly-adult Duke is seen bounding through the snow, his coat rivalling the white blanket on the ground.
In the comments, people were absolutely fascinated by Duke's white fur. One person commented: "Oh, I've never seen a white German Shepherd before!" Another added: "What a king! He has such a royal look and is absolutely beautiful!" We couldn't agree more: Duke is stunning!
