The cat wasn't alone; she had a litter of four small white kittens with her.
The man gave them some food and warm blankets. The little family then decided to settle into their makeshift shelter on his porch.
A race against time
However, the man was very worried about the little family's well-being and contacted the Chatons Orphelins Montreal rescue centre for help. When the rescuers arrived, they found the small family on the porch.
They managed to get the cats into a trap cage and transported them safely to the shelter, where they were all examined by a vet. It was then that the team realised the mother cat, Saskia, was very ill. She weighed barely 4.4 pounds and wasn't producing any milk for her kittens. For several days, Saskia fought for her life.
A bright future ahead
Thanks to the care of the veterinary team, the mother cat began to recover. After a week in hospital, Saskia regained her strength and started eating again. She is now in great shape and has revealed herself to be an adorable, affectionate cat!
As for the kittens, they have all regained their strength too. They are thriving and play all day in their foster home. They are now beautiful young white cats with medium-length fur. The whole family is now waiting to find their perfect forever homes, and we are sure it won't be long!
