An unexpected star

Three years ago, when an American rescue centre posted a photo of their employee, Zackry Majewski, posing with Sky, a Husky, they never expected the adoption offers to be for the young man himself!

It all started with the best of intentions. The shelter wanted to celebrate the hard work of Zac and his colleagues from the animal control service by featuring them in photos alongside the dogs and cats looking for homes.

But the photo of Zac and Sky sparked a wave of comments on social media, and they weren't about the dog. ”Is Zac also looking for a forever home??” one user asked on Facebook.

The shelter manager was completely taken aback by the public's reaction. By morning, the photo had 500 comments, and it quickly shot up to 1,000! While the situation was amusing, it did bring a great deal of welcome attention to the animals.

Unfortunately, the photos of his colleagues didn't receive quite the same level of attention.

Handsome and humble

We learn a little more about Zac's day-to-day life. He works at both the shelter and for the animal control service. ”For the past 5 weeks, he's been helping to clean the kennels, feed and water the animals, walk the dogs, and play with them and care for them at the shelter,” Nicki Bacon, a shelter manager, explained to The Dodo.

As for the young man himself, he seems to be taking it all in his stride. ”He's a very humble guy, he just said he was glad the animals were getting so much attention.”
