Meet Rory – A remarkable soul ready to find his family! 

When volunteers first laid eyes on Rory, they feared he wouldn't make it. Emaciated, weak, and covered in painful sores, he was in urgent need of help. Rory was diagnosed with leishmaniasis, a condition that can be life-threatening if left untreated. Thankfully he was found just in time, and with the love and care of his rescuers, has gone on to make a full recovery.

Despite everything he’s been through, Rory has never lost his gentle, affectionate nature. He adores people and seeks out contact at every opportunity. Whether it’s a cuddle, a kind word, or a quiet moment by your side, Rory thrives on connection with the people he trusts. 

He’s a calm, sweet-natured boy who shares his space happily with other dogs - both male and female. He seems to adapt to the other dog's personality, playing with some and relaxing in the presence of others. 

While Rory currently shows no symptoms, he will always have leishmaniasis (albeit potentially completely dormant). Dogs with leishmaniasis have an incredibly difficult time finding homes, but many of them live completely normal lives. It just means Rory may need to take a tablet a day, and he will need to be monitored over time to keep him feeling happy and healthy. The rescue will guide any potential adopters through everything they need to know, providing both support and the medication itself. 

Rory will make the most wonderful companion for a family or individual who can offer him the love he’s always deserved.

He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, and he’s ready to travel to his forever home in the UK.
