Bmo is a 34 Year old Large sized Female Romanian Shepherd, she roughly weighs around 30KG. She is neutered and vaccinated and has no known health issues.
Bmo can be nervous around new people visiting the home which will cause her to be growl at them, her family feel this is due to lack of socialisation due to adopting her during covid. Bmo is kept on a lead when visitors arrive and they are asked to not approach her. After a few visits Bmo will warm up to new people and accept strokes.
Bmo currently lives with two children who she is amazing with however due to her anxious behaviours her family feel she would be better suited to a home with Older children who can respect her boundaries and with slow and sensible introductions.
Bmo currently lives with another dog who she does not get along with causing fights over food. This has resulted in injuries and multiple vet visits. The dogs are now permanently separated within the home. Bmo therefore would need a dog free home.
Bmo cannot live with cats or small furries due to her very high prey drive.
Bmo accepts a collar, harness, halti and lead. Bmo walks beautifully on the lead and doesn't pull. She can become anxious of people or other dogs entering her space and would prefer a home in a quieter area where she can feel more comfortable. She will be more reactive towards dogs however can walk beside known dogs after a few visits and slow introductions. She is currently kept on her lead at all times due to poor recall. Bmo is currently only being walked for 30 minutes everyday, Bmo needs more regular exercise to keep her busy and will need an active home to enjoy lots of long walks.
Bmo is toilet trained and crate trained. She has never been destructive and can be left alone all day with no issues. She also sleep well overnight and travels well in the car. Bmo does display guarding behaviours around food and treats with other dogs, she however does not display these behaviours with humans.
Due to Bmo's size, breed and anxious temperment she will need an active, experienced home with minimal visitors in a quieter area. She will also need someone who has the time and energy to continue training longer term to build up her confidence and obedience.
Bmo's Family have said the following:
She's the biggest lapdog you'll ever meet. She loves to sit and hold your hand whenever she can. She is big (nearly 30kg) but is a good 50%fluff. She loves playing fetch, doing scent work and training with food. Considering how much she is built for the outdoors ... she's not a fan of water -the sea, rivers, puddles... even rain ! Which is ridiculous considering her features. She does sit, down, stay, she will leave her food as long as you need her to before being told 'okay' , same goes for threshold training eg doorways/car boots etc. She loves playing fetch with sticks on her long line.
