Hi there; sorry, I missed your message, I’m not a very active member on here.
Anyway, it was an intramuscular injection, so I massaged the muscle where she’d had the jab and by the next day she was running around again ^^
Hi there,
Your situation sounds very similar to mine.
My cat was fine for about 2 days after being neutered, but then he started throwing up everything he ate. So, I took him back to the vet, and they gave him an injection—I can't remember what for exactly—because the anaesthetic had caused some digestive issues. Or, what seems more likely to me, he must have had a fall, because he was also limping.
It was probably a fall even though I'd kept him isolated after his op.
The vet told me that the groove that holds his kneecap isn't deep enough, which caused a partial hip dislocation that keeps popping in and out, so he was limping quite a bit. The only thing to do in the future if it gets worse is an operation.
He had this for about a fortnight, with some days where he limped a lot, but he's been fine since and rarely limps now.
The vet offered to give him painkillers, but since my cat is a nightmare to catch and the symptoms have mostly cleared up, he hardly ever limps now.
Maybe it’s that? Does your cat limp all the time, all day long?
I NOTICED AT THE TIME THAT HIS KNEECAP WOULD POP OUT WHENEVER HE STRETCHED.
Otherwise, I’d advise you to see a vet just to be sure where it’s coming from.
The neutering itself can’t cause a limp, but it was likely a fall because he wasn't fully awake after the anaesthetic.
Hi there,
I’m so glad to hear the little one is doing better. She’s definitely on the mend, so try not to worry more than you have to. I completely understand what an emotional shock this has all been for you, but you’re the owner and the adult here, so stay strong. We’re all thinking of you and the little girl 👌
Mine isn't paralysed. She's just unsteady on her feet and it hurts when she puts weight on it. The vet assured me that he didn't hit any nerves and that she’s going to get better. I’m finding this situation so hard to cope with that I’m thinking about suicide or throwing myself out of the window. But anyway, thanks for your support ^^"
