Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’m really worried and I was hoping to hear from anyone who’s been through something similar with their cat.

My cat, Pooky, has just had emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction caused by a foreign object. He came home today after his operation and his stay at the vet’s.

Since he’s been back, he’s been very lethargic and is mostly just huddled up, which is really worrying me. I followed the vet’s advice and gave him a tiny portion of dry food, but unfortunately, he vomited it back up shortly after.

I wanted to ask if any of you have experienced this:

  • How did your cat behave in the first few hours or days after the operation?

  • Did they vomit at all once they were back home?

  • How long did it take for them to get back to their normal self and for their appetite to return?

  • When did you notice a real improvement?

I know every cat is different and that the vet's advice is the most important thing, but I’m so anxious at the moment and hearing your stories would really help put my mind at ease.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to share their experience. ❤️🐾
