Back in April, the poor cat was found locked inside an abandoned pet carrier in a park in Atlanta, USA.
Inside, huddled together to stay warm, were her five babies.
Saved in the nick of time
Fortunately, a passer-by noticed the abandoned carrier. They raised the alarm by contacting the team at the Catz 4 Life rescue centre. Even though the shelter was already at full capacity, they agreed to take the feline family in.
The whole family spent their first night at The Cat Doctor Atlanta veterinary clinic. Afterwards, rescuers placed the cats with a foster family. Jaga was finally able to rest in a cosy, safe haven.
The new arrivals
But that was not all. When four other motherless kittens arrived at the shelter, rescuers made a big decision: they introduced the little ones to Jaga. The cat welcomed them with open paws and cared for them just as she did her own litter.
In total, Jaga nursed and raised nine kittens! Thanks to the care and love of this extraordinary mother, the little ones grew strong and healthy. In fact, they have all now found their forever homes.
A fresh start
After giving so much, Jaga can finally take a breather. She has settled well into her foster home, where she lives peacefully alongside the other cats.
Jaga is very calm and easy-going. This brave cat deserves to find her forever home as soon as possible. We wish her all the love and cuddles in the world!
Jaga is looking for her forever home
