Woman finds cat family at end of her garden: one simple call changes their lives

By Ludivine Mazzotti•

Back in August, a resident in South West London noticed that a stray cat had given birth to kittens near a garden fence.

The situation was dangerous for the little family, as there was heavy traffic nearby and the temperatures had dropped.

The lady then contacted rescue group The Stray Cat Club, based near Richmond, to ask for help.

A second chance

That simple phone call changed everything for the kittens and their mum. Rescuers quickly went to the scene to help them. The mother cat was named Star, and she moved into a foster home with her five kittens, safely away from the cold and the dangers of the garden.

Since arriving in their cosy new home, the kittens have made impressive progress. They can now let their personalities shine. Some have shown an adventurous side and love exploring every corner of their foster home, whilst others prefer watching their brothers and sisters before joining in on the fun!

A mum who can finally rest

Today, life for the little family is just like that of any happy kittens: games of chase and hide-and-seek, playful wrestling, and group naps. Their foster mum loves watching the five little ones snuggle up together to sleep. As for Star, she can finally relax at last. She can watch her babies play without having to stay constantly on guard.

The family still needs to undergo a few health checks before moving on to the next step: adoption. We are so relieved that the little family was spotted in time, and that the kittens are now growing up in a safe environment.
