A terrifying danger
One day, his heart sank when he spotted something deeply concerning. One of the tiny kittens had a piece of broken glass stuck around its neck. It was the jagged rim of a broken jar, which had dug into her fur and threatened to cause serious injury.
Realising the urgency of the situation, the man contacted the RSPCA immediately. Rescuers arrived quickly on the scene to round up the whole feline family safely. They then transported the mother and her three kittens to the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London, where the veterinary teams took over.
A delicate rescue operation
To free the kitten, rescuers had to work with extreme care. They managed to guide her paws gently through the glass loop before sliding the broken shard carefully over her head. Once freed, the little kitten – who was named Mason – was lucky to escape with only a few superficial cuts.
The rest of the family were named Mama Moustache, Baby Moustache, and Kilner. For now, the dedicated staff are working hard to build their confidence and help the kittens learn how to play and behave naturally.
The rescue centre is now looking for loving forever homes where these sweet kittens can grow up safely and finally enjoy a life filled with play, peace, and plenty of affection!
