Seeing a laundry basket in a park is hardly a common sight, so he went over to take a closer look inside.
A shocking discovery
The driver was stunned to find a small creature curled up at the bottom of the basket. He was incredibly worried because the animal was completely motionless... Fortunately, the pup was still breathing. Despite having many more deliveries to complete, the driver refused to walk away and leave the poor dog behind.
He immediately contacted Logan’s Legacy 29, a rescue organisation founded by Suzette Hall. Shortly after, a volunteer arrived on the scene and gently picked up the little dog before taking her to the veterinary clinic.
A wave of generosity
Vets estimated that the dog, whom they named Solene, was around seven or eight years old. Very weak, the poor dog was struggling to move. X-rays revealed that Solene had a broken leg, which required surgery to heal properly.
However, the surgery would cost several thousand dollars. Suzette shared Solene's story online, appealing to her community for help. Thanks to the overwhelming support of fellow animal lovers, they managed to raise $4,000 to fund her operation.
After being so cruelly abandoned, Solene has finally been given a second chance at life. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope she finds her forever home very soon!
