As weather warnings predicted violent storms over Ariège in southwestern France, market gardener Séverine rushed to take cover. Along with a friend, she scrambled to harvest her figs, peaches, and vegetables before the elements broke loose.
Once her produce was safe, Séverine settled in her kitchen to make jam. Outside, the lightning was drawing dangerously close. Remembering her grandmother's wise advice, she counted the seconds between the flashes and the thunder... until suddenly, the sky lit up in a continuous blaze.
A magical sphere in the living room
Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and a blinding light filled the room. To Séverine's absolute astonishment, a glowing sphere about the size of a handball shot out of her old telephone socket. The phenomenon, as surreal as it was impressive, floated calmly along the wall as if it were exploring the house.
But standing right in its path was Orwell, the family dog, as reported by French newspaper La Dépêche. Already quite anxious from the roaring storm, the poor pooch found himself with a front-row seat to this mysterious ball of fire.
An acrobatic leap and a lasting memory
Startled by the glowing visitor, the brave dog pulled off an unexpected acrobatic feat. "He made an incredible leap! I had no idea a dog could jump that high," his owner recalled fondly.
The mysterious sphere vanished just as quickly as it had appeared, frying the internet router and a few plug sockets in the process. Fortunately, Séverine and her faithful Orwell emerged completely unscathed from this magical experience. While his owner remembers it as a beautiful, extraordinary moment, Orwell will likely be keeping a very close eye on the plug sockets during the next thunderstorm!
