He found a tiny, abandoned piglet on the second-floor balcony of the hotel...
Shivering from the cold and completely alone, the little creature stood no chance of survival without quick intervention.
In need of help
The manager contacted the Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary for help. Rescuers took the piglet in and named him Randolph. Once he was safe, Randolph went to live with the sanctuary's founder, Alešja Daehnrich, who fostered him so he could receive 24-hour care and attention.
When he arrived at his foster home, Randolph had no idea his life was about to take an extraordinary turn. Among the animals already rescued by Alešja, he met Nellie, a little Dachshund cross.
A motherly instinct
The dog fell completely in love with the piglet. Nellie was desperate to get close to the little pig, whimpering and refusing to take her eyes off him. An incredible bond formed between them from the moment they met. Nellie quickly became highly protective and motherly, acting as if Randolph were her very own puppy!
The piglet quickly felt safe by her side and started following her everywhere. Their close bond deeply touched Alešja and all the sanctuary rescuers.
Thanks to Nellie, his adoptive mum, the piglet has grown into a confident, happy, and absolutely adorable little pig. We are sure these two partners in crime will share many more beautiful adventures for a long time to come!
