At the beginning of July, Becky was curious enough to explore her parents' home in Connecticut using Google Maps.
Looking at images of places from your past on Google Maps can bring back so many memories. You might spot childhood furniture or notice how a garden has changed over the years.

But the young woman never imagined that the photo taken by Google Maps would bring back her most precious childhood memory: her beloved dog. On the street view images, her beautiful Golden Retriever, Sonny, can be seen running happily around the garden.
This photograph was taken in 2011, and Becky had never seen it before. The happy pup is mid-run and looking straight at the camera. You almost wonder if he was actually chasing the Google car!
Heartwarming memories
For Becky, it felt like reliving a moment shared with her late companion, as if he were still running around the garden just like the old days. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Sonny was by his owner's side for every single milestone.
Sadly, Sonny passed away in 2018 at the age of nine, following a battle with a particularly aggressive form of cancer. His family made sure his final months were as peaceful and comfortable as possible before saying their goodbyes. Becky is now comforted by the thought that Sonny is still keeping her family company, happily running around her childhood garden on Google Maps!
