Rescuers' hearts race as they open a pet carrier abandoned on a wall

By Ludivine Mazzotti

On 9th June, a cat rescue charity in Fresnes, France, took to Facebook to share an angry post.

At around 8 p.m., rescuers found an abandoned cat on a low wall near their shelter.

The poor cat was trapped inside a pet carrier.

Just an "object"?

As the rescuers pointed out, the poor cat had been left in the carrier as if it were just an "object". If the team hadn't spotted him, the cat would have spent the entire night outside, just metres from the safety of the shelter.

On their social media page, the rescuers reminded the public that there are other options before resorting to abandoning an animal. They urged people to contact charities, ask for help, and explain the difficult situation they are facing.

A punishable offence

It is important to remember that abandoning an animal is an offence punishable by law. Fortunately, the cat was found in time and is now in safe hands. In their post, the shelter team stated that they would always be there to fight for animal welfare and protect those in need.

Thanks to the care and attention of the rescuers, a new life with a loving forever family is now possible for him. We wish him all the best for the future.
