When her Pitbull, Mabel, suddenly fell ill, her owner in the US rushed her to the vet. The young dog had stopped eating and could no longer walk.
A $400 tummy ache
After X-rays and various other tests, the vet concluded that Mabel simply had a "tummy ache".
While her owner was relieved by the diagnosis, she was rather taken aback by the vet's bill.
As she shared on her TikTok account, her pet's "tummy ache" ended up costing her the hefty sum of $400, which is about £315.
At first, the bill made Mabel's owner wince. However, she soon realised the cost was justified because of the various scans that had been performed.
She's not alone
On the social media platform, many users shared similar experiences: "We spent hundreds of dollars only to find out my dog coughs for attention," one person commented.
