Zeus is a lovely five-year-old Rottweiler.
In February, he was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of osteosarcoma. This is a malignant bone tumour, also known as bone cancer.
A difficult diagnosis
Zeus had to have his front leg amputated. The operation went well, but his recovery is still ongoing. It will take time for Zeus to get used to life on three legs. The brave dog is showing his natural strength, and his progress is extremely encouraging.
Recently, people online discovered Zeus's lovely Sunday ritual: spending time with his best friend, Sparky. The size difference between the two dogs is quite remarkable. The pair adore each other, and their weekly get-together brings them so much joy.
A heartwarming reunion
However, due to Zeus's surgery and recovery, the two friends were sadly unable to see each other for six weeks. So, when they were finally able to meet again in April, Zeus's family filmed their reunion.
The scene is incredibly moving. You can see Zeus waiting patiently in the hallway for his best friend. When Sparky spots Zeus, he starts running towards him at full speed. Zeus gets up and runs to greet his friend too. Sparky isn't bothered at all by Zeus's new appearance. Their joy is just so beautiful to see! We're sure this wonderful friendship will be a great support for Zeus during his recovery!
