Columbia University Irving Medical Center granted one of its patients, a Mr Spencer, his final wish.
Sadly, Mr Spencer was terminally ill.
A moving wish
He made one last request: to say a final goodbye to his two dogs, Bowie and Nikki. The rescuers from Second Chance Rescue, who are looking after the dogs, brought them in to spend some time with Mr Spencer.
The joy and excitement of the two dogs upon seeing their owner was a beautiful sight. But the dogs also seemed to sense that this was their last moment with him. At one point, their energy in the hospital room shifted, as someone can be heard saying in the video: ”They know”.
An unbreakable bond
Mr Spencer passed away just a few hours after the visit from his two faithful companions, Bowie and Nikki. The two dogs showed an unparalleled loyalty and devotion to their owner.
The shelter's rescuers made one last promise to Mr Spencer: to find a loving home that will care for the dogs for the rest of their lives. We sincerely hope that Bowie and Nikki find their new forever home as soon as possible.
