Hello
My 12-year-old girl has an enlarged heart (discovered during a cardiac arrest during a dental scale and polish in 2023). She has been on Cardisure and Libeo for about a year now. Last Monday she had an arthritis flare-up; I had to carry her down to the garden (3 steps). My vet suggested a Librela injection which worked really well. However, since Sunday night, she has been coughing much more than usual. She stays lying down and is breathing very fast. Neither of us slept a wink last night. As soon as the surgery opened this morning, I rushed her to the vet. It's pulmonary oedema and her trachea is being compressed by her enlarged heart :( He gave her a diuretic injection and I've brought her back home. When I asked him if my dog was at the end of her life, he replied that she was closer to the end than the beginning, but that the treatment should work. He prescribed some Tramadol as well and we are increasing the Libeo dose from tonight. I don't know what to think, she is so exhausted. I'm terrified of losing her.
