Helping Elvis face radiotherapy: even a small donation can make a difference š¾
My name is Gabriele and Iām writing to ask for a helping hand for Elvis, my four-year-old Labrador. Heās currently fighting nasal chondrosarcoma, a tumour that has already put us through a long journey of treatment.
Elvis has had two surgeries, both performed by Dr Giorgio Romanelli at the ISVet clinic in Milan, and has undergone both traditional chemotherapy and electrochemotherapy. Unfortunately, the tumour returned after the first operation, meaning a second surgery and further treatments were necessary.
To explore every possible avenue, I also sought a second opinion from Professor Damiano Stefanello at the University of Milanās Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Both specialists Iāve consulted agree that radiotherapy is now the only effective treatment option left for Elvis.
The treatment needs to take place at the university veterinary hospital in Zurich, but after everything weāve already spent, I simply can't afford the cost on my own.
Iād taken out pet insurance specifically to ensure Elvis could get the care he needs. However, the first round of treatment exhausted the policy limit. At first, the company didn't want to renew the policy; they eventually did, but the new limit was also reached with the second operation and subsequent care. Now I'm facing the cost of the radiotherapy with no insurance cover left.
It isnāt easy asking for help, but I want to give Elvis this chance at treatment, following the advice of the specialists whoāve seen him.
For anyone who would like to help us, Iāve set up this fundraiser:
Any donation, no matter how small, will be a huge help. If you aren't able to donate, even just sharing this appeal can make a difference and help us reach more people.
For complete transparency, Iām happy to provide all of Elvisās medical records, including reports, documentation of his surgeries and treatments, as well as proof of the upcoming costs.
You can contact me via email at: gabriele.ferlazzo@gmail.com
All funds raised will go towards the radiotherapy, and I will post updates on his treatment and how the money is being used.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who reads this, shares it, or decides to lend us a hand.
