Spreading skin issue / scabs and redness

Hello,

For the past few days, my Boxer's skin problems have been getting worse.

I can't seem to figure out the cause before taking her to the vet.

She isn't scratching (no itching). It first appeared on the right side of her neck, but the issue has since spread to the top of her head and her left cheek.

Spreading skin issue / scabs and redness

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Thanks in advance

    Hello

This looks like yeast: Malassezia dermatitis.

I’ve just noticed that both of my King Charles are affected. And as I’m writing this, I’ve just realised that we had the same problem last July.

The fix: Tea tree hydrosol twice a day. It’s all sorted in 4 days.

The cause: I’ve been giving them baths because of the heat. I think it’s down to moisture build-up from over-bathing.

Hi, Based on your description, there could be several possible causes: a bacterial skin infection, ringworm, an autoimmune disease, or another dermatological condition. Unfortunately, it's impossible to provide a reliable diagnosis without a clinical examination, and since the lesions are spreading, you should book an appointment with your vet fairly soon. In the meantime, avoid applying any products that haven't been prescribed and keep an eye out for any other symptoms. Only your vet will be able to confirm the cause. I hope your Boxer feels better soon. All the best, Romane
