Asymmetrical paw pads

Hi there. Size isn't the main factor unless it's pathological or painful. I check their paw pads regularly as one of my dogs has a problem with cracked pads. And obviously, both of them end up getting hurt by those bloody grass seeds. In any case, if it looks suspicious, you should definitely get the vet to take a look.

Hi, A slight asymmetry between the paw pads is completely normal and fairly common in dogs. This thickening is usually linked to a simple anatomical variation—much like in humans where we might have one foot slightly larger than the other, for example—or an area of harder skin built up from repeated pressure when they walk. The fact that the pad looks normal, with no redness or limping, confirms there is no pain and therefore no need to see a vet specifically for this. You can still keep an eye on it without worrying, and simply have your vet check it during your next appointment :)) Best regards, Laure.
