Swollen paw and refusing food

Evening everyone, my 6-7 month old kitten has had a swollen back right leg for three days now and is off his food. He had a very high fever of over 40°C that was hard to get down for two days. He's been staying at the vet's since Friday night. He started purring again last night and is being very affectionate, wanting lots of cuddles.

The vets can't seem to put a name to the swelling or figure out why he won't start eating again.

I'm at my wits' end. Thank you for any help.

    Hi there,

It’s really touching that he’s started purring again and is looking for cuddles, even if it sadly doesn't necessarily mean his condition is fully improving yet. You definitely did the right thing by having him admitted; he’s in the best place to be monitored and get the care he needs.

Have you asked the vets which tests have already been carried out and if they’re considering getting a second opinion or seeing a specialist if he doesn’t start to pick up?

I really hope from the bottom of my heart that your little man makes a speedy recovery.

    Maëlla
