Swollen leg and won't eat

Good evening, my 6-7 month old kitten has had a swollen back right leg for three days and has stopped eating. He had a very high fever of over 40°C which was really difficult to bring down for two days. He’s been hospitalised since Friday night. He started purring again last night and is asking for lots of cuddles.

The vets can't seem to put their finger on the cause of the swelling or why he isn't eating again.

I’m at my wits' end. Thank you.

Hi there, This looks like a local infection. As I’m not yet a vet, and without further tests, it’s very difficult to give you a definitive answer as things stand. What I would suggest is seeing another vet for a second opinion if those currently looking after your cat have hit a bit of a dead end. Best wishes, Laura
