This morning my partner found our little kitten like this. We have absolutely no idea what's happened to him. He's 3 months old and he stays indoors for now. I can't think what it could be and I'd just like to know if it's anything serious, if anyone knows?

    Your kitten does indeed have a small patch of hair loss under his jaw.

    Unfortunately, it’s difficult to give a diagnosis based on just this photo. Does he have any other similar patches elsewhere on his body? Has he been scratching more than usual lately? Have you noticed any changes in his behaviour recently? Does he have contact with other cats or animals? Is he up to date with flea and tick treatments?

    There could be several causes for a lesion like this: allergies, parasites, a scrap with other cats... I’d recommend seeing a vet soon to find out the cause and get it treated. It will also help put your mind at ease.
