Do dogs get period cramps?

Hello! I'm so sorry to ask such a blunt question, but I was wondering whether my girl is in pain every time it's that time of the month? I never considered this and all of a sudden I'm wondering whether there's anything I can do to make her more comfortable ?... Thank you so much for your help!

Hi, Whilst they may experience an uncomfortable sensation or potentially even cramps they will not be comparable to a human period cramp, due to what is occurring during their season. However each individual will react differently and this is something to kee an eye on! If you are concerned it would be advisable to talk to a vet and they could advise you on how to make this time more comfortable.
